How to Stay Consistent on Social Media During December—Without Burning Out

Let’s be honest: December is full. You’re juggling client work, Christmas orders, Advent events, year-end wrap-ups, and probably still trying to squeeze in a silent night or two.

But just because your schedule is packed doesn’t mean your social feed needs to go silent.

Whether you’re a one-person shop or a small-but-mighty team, staying consistent with your content in December is possible, and it doesn’t have to mean “hustling harder.”

Here’s how to keep showing up without adding stress to your sleigh:

1. Reuse What’s Already Working

You don’t need to reinvent your content wheel during the busiest month of the year.

  • Reshare your top-performing posts from earlier this year.

  • Turn blog posts into quick carousels or reels.

  • Grab quotes from past newsletters or podcast episodes and make them into easy graphics.

Pro tip: If you already posted it and it did well, it’s worth repeating. Your audience isn’t seeing 100% of your content anyway.

2. Batch + Schedule in One Sitting

Block out 90 minutes this week to plan your next few weeks of posts.

  • Write 5–10 captions.

  • Choose coordinating photos or graphics.

  • Use a scheduler like Later, Planoly, Buffer, or Meta Business Suite to line them up.

Pro tip: Pick a theme for each week in December (i.e. gift giving, gratitude, behind the scenes, year-in-review) to make batching even easier.

3. Lean Into Simplicity + Authenticity

Not every post has to be a masterpiece. (In fact, some of your best content might be the most casual.)

  • Snap a photo of your Advent wreath or a favorite ornament and write a short reflection.

  • Share what you’re praying for this season.

  • Post a “closed for Christmas” note with heartfelt thanks to your community.

Pro tip: Use this season to connect—not just promote.

4. Use Evergreen Content on Auto-Pilot

December is a great time to let evergreen content do the heavy lifting.

Examples:

  • “About us” origin story posts

  • Service or product explainers

  • Client testimonials

  • Re-introduction posts

Pro tip: Add a light seasonal tie-in to make it timely: “As we wrap up the year, here’s a little about why we do what we do…”

5. Invite Others to Do the Talking

Let your audience help carry the content load:

  • Post a client testimonial graphic

  • Share a user-generated photo or review

  • Ask a question in Stories or polls and screenshot/share the answers

  • Do a “team favorite” holiday series with input from your staff

Pro tip: People love to see real humans behind the brand. You don’t always have to be the one talking.

6. Plan a Few Strategic “Silent Days”

You don’t need to post every single day in December. Give yourself permission to go quiet (intentionally!).

  • Schedule “off” days, like Sundays, Holy Days, or key family days

  • Don’t apologize for being silent. Rest is holy

  • Let your audience know if/when you’ll be off-grid

Pro tip: Even God rested on the 7th day—and He had a lot more to do than write captions.

Bonus: Use a Content Template or Calendar

If the blank page is the problem, skip it entirely.

At Rosebud Social, we use content calendars and prompts that keep the ideas flowing and the panic low. Try:

  • Our Free Content Calendar for Catholic Brands (or sub in your actual calendar link here)

  • Or hire us to batch your December content for you, we love making your mission visible.

You don’t have to be everywhere, all the time.

You just need to be present where it counts, with content that reflects your mission, values, and voice.

So take a breath, schedule a few things, and let your presence online echo the peace and joy you're cultivating offline.

We're cheering you on this Advent and always.
